The Durban series, created during the early days of lockdown, March 2020. Confined within his apartment, Joubert’s Durban series reflects on grey Berlin days and his longing for the balmy welcoming warmth of his previous home. With the uncertainty of the pandemic weighing on him, Joubert yearns for the surity of the oppressive sea-side humidity and sweltering heat he’d experienced in South Africa prior to moving to Berlin.
